THE EASTER TRIDUUM

HOLY THURSDAY 17TH APRIL

10am Morning Prayer (No morning Mass)

8pm  EVENING MASS OF THE LORD'S SUPPER

Watching in prayer with the Blessed Sacrement until 10pm.

 

GOOD FRIDAY 18TH APRIL

(Day of Fasting & Abstinence)

10am Morning Prayer (No morning Mass)

3pm SOLEMN LITURGY OF THE LORD'S PASSION

7pm STATIONS OF THE CROSS with Veneration of the Cross

 

HOLY SATURDAY 19TH APRIL

10am Morning Prayer (No morning Mass)

8pm SOLEMN EASTER VIGIL

We gather outside the doors of the church for the Blessing of fire, lighting of Easter Candle and procession into the church

 

EASTER SUNDAY 20TH APRIL

Mass 10am & 12 noon

(On Holy Thursday the Chrism Mass takes place at the Cathedral at 11am)

Programme for Holy Week:

Palm Sunday: Blessing of Palms at all Masses: Vigil 5.30pm; Sunday 10am; 12noon; 6pm.

Holy Thursday: No Morning Mass 11am Chrism Mass at St Andrews Cathedral • Easter Triduum Begins with Mass of the Lord's Supper 8pm
Including washing of feet. Please can we have 12 volunteers for this ceremony.

Good Friday: Day of Fasting and Abstinence
No Morning Mass. Morning Prayer at 9.30am
3pm Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion with Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion
7pm Way of the Cross and Veneration of the Cross

Holy Saturday: No Morning Mass. No Mass at 5.30pm
9.30am Morning Prayer 8pm Vigil of the Resurrection: Blessing of fire; Lighting of Easter Candle; Procession into Church Liturgy of the Word; Celebration of the Eucharist

Easter Sunday: Masses at 10am 12noon and 6pm
